A group of Oklahoma parents and advocates has released a waiver for material championed by State Superintendent Ryan Walters, but the state department says it is not enforceable.

Oklahoma colleges and universities in the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education will be banned from using state funds for diversity, equity and inclusion activities and positions after Governor Kevin Stitt signed Senate Bill 796 into law Wednesday.

House Bill 1137, authored by Choctaw citizen Rep. Ronald Stewart, D-Tulsa, was an amendment to Ida's Law, which provided tribal liaisons to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations for MMIP cases.
