Talkin' Turkey with the Rooster: RC Edwards of Turnpike Troubadours

Longtime listeners already know how High Plains Morning loves lookin' out for our own, so when we heard Oklahoma's own Turnpike Troubadours were slidin' through the Panhandle, we got one of them on the horn. Thanks so much to RC Edwards (aka "The Rooster") for sharing some time on the road with High Plains Public Radio -- and to Michelle from All Eyes Media for making some space for us at the show.

After an excellent set from Texas-bred country brother Red Shahan, the boys rocked and rolled the Starlight Ranch.

If you haven't seen any live music in a while, folks, GET ON IT! The talent toodlin' through our listener region is boundless! Cheers to all you touring artists out there.

Here's the full interview, folks. (I promise it'll explain the Travis Tritt laserbeam.)

Jenny Inzerillo joined HPPR in 2015 as the host of High Plains Morning, our live music program that airs weekdays at 9 am to noon CST. Broadcasting from KJJP in beautiful downtown Amarillo, she helps listeners wake up with inspired music from our region and beyond. Tune in for new voices in folk/Americana, deep cuts from your favorite artists, soulful tracks from singer/songwriters across the world, and toe-tapping classics dating as far back as the 1920s. Plus, discover underground greats that just might be your new favorite band.
