Axis deer are a big deal down here in Texas. They came to the area on exotic ranches. Some of those rascals got loose, and now they free range across the state.Axis deer are in the rut right now. Since they are not a native species, there isn’t any season. Permits are reasonably priced for those of you who are out of state.
