KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Kansans Can Fish Without A License This Weekend

CC0 Creative Commons

If you want to go fishing in Kansas but don’t have a license, this weekend is a great time to go.

Each year the Kansas Department of Wildlife, ParksandTourism designates a weekend allowing people to fish without a license. "Free Fishing Days" allows those with fishing poles the opportunity to fish for crappie, catfish, largemouth bass and bluegill at state lakes and rivers.

Good fishing spots can be found atksoutdoors.com, by clicking on “Fishing” and then on “Where to Fish,” which brings up a map of the state separated into northwest, northeast, southwest, south-central and southeast regions. Clicking on the region where you want to fish will bring up a map of specific fishing spots.
