HPPR reported yesterday on the new license plate design for Oklahoma, which has drawn criticism from some residents. For those Oklahomans who don’t love the new plate, there’s another option. Another new license plate hopes to bring Oklahoma’s state mammal, the American Bison, into the spotlight.
However, The Nature Conservancy hasn’t yet settled on a design for the plate. A poll has been created that will allow residents to vote between eight designs. Those interested in voting have until September 7 to do so. The winning design will then be submitted to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
If the commission approves the plate, it will be available for pre-sale to the public for four months. However, the plates will only be manufactured if at least 500 are ordered.
