Oklahoma has proposed a new car tag compact deal to save negotiations with the Cherokee Nation.

Kansans have until 5 p.m. on Friday to choose their favorite personalized license plate, which all incorporate the phrase "To the Stars."

The Oklahoma Senate has passed a bill that would streamline and standardize the registration process for used cars.

After a previously released design received public outcry, Gov. Laura Kelly unveiled five license plate designs for Kansans to vote on. Following an online voting process, the state has a new plate.

People can vote until 5 p.m. Friday. The selected plate will be announced Monday, Dec. 18.

The existing Ad Astra plate, anchored by the state seal with a light blue background, was released in 2008 under Gov. Sam Brownback. But many of those embossed plates have deteriorated and become difficult for law enforcement to read.
