The presidential election is four weeks from today. If you’re planning to vote in Oklahoma and haven’t yet registered, there’s still time.
However, you must register by October 14. That’s this coming Friday. As KFOR notes, some requirements, like voter ID laws, are still being hashed out in the courts. But here’s what you need to know: To register, you must be a US citizen, living in Oklahoma. You must also be 18 to register. If you’re a convicted felon, you can register to vote after a period of time equal to the time of your original sentence. And if you’ve been judged legally “incapacitated,” you cannot register.
To register, mail your form to the Oklahoma State Election Board. You can also fill out a form at a government assistance agency, and they’ll turn it in for you. As of now, you must show ID to vote.
