KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

The Hutchinson News

The Hutchinson News has reported a deeply touching story about a mother in Ulysses, Kansas, who finds herself in a struggle for her life. Becky Teeter was always the tower in her household that everyone leaned on. She and her husband Monty adopted two children in the eighties, and their family grew in strength and love over the years. Monty realized his dream of owning his own irrigation company. Becky supported him, becoming his bookkeper. Teeter irrigation now has over 100 employees.

This corner of Kansas is rayllying around Becky, who has contracted atypical Creutzfeldt-Jakob prion disease, with brain-stem and cerebellar dysfunctions. Through the years, Becky has been a source of strength and inspiration in their Kansas town. “She was always leaving notes all over the house,” Monty said—reminders of her love for her family. Now the woman who spent much of her life sending cards and notes of encouragement into her community is receiving cards by the hundreds in return.
