In honor of Independence Day, the website wallethub.com has completed a study to determine which US metro communities most resemble the nation at large. The website compiled data including age, gender and income as well as more complex measures such as household makeup and housing tenure.
The study found that Indianapolis, Indiana, most closely resembles America-at-large, while McAllen, Texas least resembles the nation. Oklahoma City is ranked 7th in terms of its resemblance to America, while Amarillo falls at number 62 out of 381 communities studied. Of the top 10 cities on the list, 9 are located in the Midwest and the South.
