KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

StoryCorps has abig homework assignment for students as they head back to school this fall.

StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate the lives of everyday Americans by listening to their stories.  Now the nationwide oral history project is asking teenagers across America to interview a grandparent or elder during this upcoming Thanksgiving season. The teens can then upload the recordings to the Library of Congress. High school history teachers are being asked to have students record the interviews with the StoryCorps smartphone application.

“The Great Thanksgiving Listen” hopes to collect tens of thousands of one-on-one conversations for posterity. Founder Dave Isay stressed that the stories are less important than the fact that our elders are talking.
