KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. Two singer-songwriters with successful solo careers meet and decide to go on tour together. That was a couple of years ago, and now Carrie Elkin and Danny Schmidt have produced their first cd together, 'For Keeps'. It's a collection made up of some of each of their songs and some that were written together. Recorded in Austin, Texas, the new cd features a slew of great musicians/friends. This cd will be released on May 13. Enjoy a preview all this week on High Plains Morning.

Former Music Director of High Plains Public Radio, and host of High Plains Morning (2010-2015), he has returned to HPPR with a new show called What The Folk?—a signature mix of folk, roots, Americana, and more—woven together by a unifying theme. Tune in every Saturday night at 7pm CT for a two-hour mix that could only come from the man himself.
