Max McCoy is a well-known and award-winning author. The Dodge Globe reported that McCoy, a Kansas native and professor at Emporia State University, will launch his newest novel, “Of Grave Concern,” on Tuesday, July 2, 2:00 pm, at the Long Branch Saloon in Dodge City, Kansas.
According to Amazon, the book is an Ophelia Wylde paranormal mystery. After the Civil War, many who have lost loved ones, turn to psychics to contact the dead. Ophelia Wylde is scammed once, and decides, “if she can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” Wylde heads west, landing in Dodge City, and the adventure begins. Brent Harris, who works at Boot Hill, previewed the book. Harris said McCoy’s book, set in 1887 paints a vivid picture of what Dodge City was like. He picked up the book and couldn’t put it down.
McCoy has written for the likes of Steven Spielberg and Lucas Films. His novels are mostly set in Kansas and Missouri.
