KZNA-FM 90.5 serving northwest Kansas is operating at just 10% power using a back up transmitter while work continues to install a new transmitter. It is hoped that this work will completed on Thursday with KZNA back to its full 100,000 watts of power with a state of the art transmitter to serve the area for many years to come.
If you can't receive KZNA at its reduced power, you can listen via the digital stream directly above or on the HPPR mobile app. For questions please contact station staff at (800) 678-7444 or by emailing hppr@hppr.org

Feelin' the Fall: Center City Brings Jazztober & Harvest Market This Week

HPPR welcomed Beth Duke into the studio–masked up and distanced for safety–to share some exciting news about some upcoming events in downtown Amarillo, thanks to Center City. She joined me on High Plains Morning to remind music lovers of the Texas Panhandle that Jazztober starts TONIGHT and runs from 6:00-7:30 pm. The Martinis kick off the series, but it also features Austin Brazille, Esquire Jazz Band, and Ruth Ellen Lynch in coming weeks. If you miss live performance, bring your chairs, blankets, snacks, drinks, and friends for an open-air, distanced concert on the lawn of the Historic Bivens Mansion (1000 S. Polk, Amarillo).

Plus, this Saturday, October 10th, there’s a Harvest Market at the Santa Fe Depot (401 S. Grant St.) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Get the Autumn vibes going with some fun activities like: free activity bags for the first 100 children, a scavenger hunt, a Pet Parade at noon, and live music by Mike Fuller (morning) and Jonathan Guidi (afternoon). You can apply to be a vendor online. For more information on either of these free events, contact Center City at (806) 372-6744.

Jenny Inzerillo joined HPPR in 2015 as the host of High Plains Morning, our live music program that airs weekdays at 9 am to noon CST. Broadcasting from KJJP's new studios at Arts in the Sunset in Amarillo, TX, she helps listeners wake up with inspired music from our region and beyond. Tune in for new voices in folk/Americana, deep cuts from your favorite artists, soulful tracks from singer/songwriters across the world, and toe-tapping classics dating as far back as the 1920s. Plus, discover underground greats that just might be your new favorite band.
