KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. Western Kansas Clinics Receive Federal Grant Money

Two western Kansas clinics received federal monies to help residents maneuver their way through the upcoming health insurance exchange. The Kansas Health Institute reported the funds will be used to hire a total of 32 outreach workers in 14 clinics across Kansas. The total grant amount was $1.6 million.

The two clinics are:

First Care Clinic in Hays- $82,331
United Methodist Western Kansas Mexican-American Ministries in Garden City- $97,291

About 365,000 Kansans are without health insurance. This program is expected to help 25,000 people.
The health insurance exchange is expected to be operational October 1.
