KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Wallethub

Amarillo is one of the best cities in America for Hispanic entrepreneurs, according to WalletHub. The personal finance website conducted an in-depth analysis of 2016’s Best Cities for Hispanic Entrepreneurs. Amarillo just missed the top ten, falling at number eleven on the list.

WalletHub found that Hispanics are creating businesses at 15 times the rate in they did last year. Six of the top ten cities for Latino commerce were in Texas and Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City at number 10, Tulsa at number nine and Corpus Christi, El Paso and Laredo, which make up the top three.

Gilbert, AZ, has the highest median income for Hispanics, while New York City has the lowest. Latinos in Gilber make four times what they do in NYC. And Hialeah, Florida, was found to have the highest percentage of Hispanic residents. The city has 61 times the rate of Hispanics of the city with the lowest percentage: Jackson, Mississippi.
