KZNA-FM 90.5 serving northwest Kansas is operating at just 10% power using a back up transmitter while work continues to install a new transmitter. It is hoped that this work will completed within the next few days with KZNA back to its full 100,000 watts of power with a state of the art transmitter to serve the area for many years to come.

When it comes to gay rights, how do the region's cities rank?

The Human Rights Campaign is a gay civil rights group.  The group recently issued a report card ranking city policies toward lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgender people. 

The best score in Colorado was Denver with an 89 out of 100, Colorado Springs and Aurora tied for the worst at 63.

The top city in Kansas was Lawrence at 72, while Kansas City was at the bottom with 24.

Norman, Oklahoma had the highest score, a 61.  Broken Arrow, the lowest, a 20. 

Texas had a perfect score.  Austin scored a 100.  Lubbock, McAllen, Mesquite, and Irving received zeroes.

Amarillo was included in the survey, scoring a 14.

Over 350 cities were ranked. 

The national average was 59 out of 100 possible points. 

The MEI Index was based on 47 criteria with categories like non-discriminatory laws, relationship recognition, law enforcement, and employment policies.    

Overall, the highest ranking scores were found in New England and Mid-Atlantic and Western regions.  The lowest scores were in the Southwest and Southeast.
