Oklahoma Charity Supports Struggling Teachers

feedthechildren.org

It’s no secret that Oklahoma’s public education system has faced some critical challenges in recent years. Luckily, Feed The Children and its corporate sponsors like Whataburger are well aware of the struggles of Oklahoma’s teachers.

That’s why Feed the Children has opened warehouses in Oklahoma City to provide much-needed school supplies to teachers. Since 2011, reports KFOR, Feed The Children has hosted a "Teacher Store" where qualifying school districts can load up on textbooks, pens and spiral notebooks.

“It's almost like Black Friday shopping,” said Kim Shockley, a second grade teacher. “It's a good thing. No fights.” Thanks to the charity organization and its sponsors, 2,000-plus teachers will be better prepared when the 2016 school year opens.
