KZNA-FM 90.5 serving northwest Kansas will be off the air starting the afternoon of Monday, October 20 through Friday as we replace its aging and unreliable transmitter. While we're off-air, you can keep listening to our digital stream directly above this alert or on the HPPR mobile app. This planned project is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining free and convenient access to public radio service via FM radio to everyone in the listening area. For questions please contact station staff at (800) 678-7444 or by emailing hppr@hppr.org

Help fill the gap left by funding cuts

Amid all the debate over shrinking government, cutting funding and reducing deficits, support for HPPR is one area where there’s been action and real consequences.  HPPR’s funding from the State of Kansas has been cut by 78% from its peak level.  And support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has declined 25% since 2010.

That’s left a large budget gap that you can help cover with your end-of-year private contribution.  Contribute now by clicking the red “SUPPORT” button above or respond by mail to a letter you may have received from HPPR by December 31st to claim the tax deduction this year.

Whether it’s your first contribution, a membership renewal or an additional gift, your support now will help meet our December goal of raising $55,000 in private support from individuals in order to end this year without a budget deficit.
