Transgender Day of Visibility: Amarillo's First March on 3/31

Sam Burnett, the president of the Amarillo Area Transgender Advocacy Group (AATAG) and Sandra Dunn, founder of the Amarillo Area Transgender Support Group (AATSG), stopped by High Plains Morning to share about the 10th anniversary of the International Transgender Day of Visibility on Sunday, March 31st—and they’re hosting a first-ever march in Amarillo from 2-5pm CT. They encourage everyone to join the celebration, intended to raise awareness of trans people in our region and to address the discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide. The march starts at the office of counselor Bekki McQuay (1503 SW 10th Ave.) and continues to the Potter County Courthouse (501 S. Filmore). Come early at 1:00p CT if you need to register to vote; they’ll have Voter Deputy Registrars on site to sign you up. For more info, call 806-414-5549 or email Tbtwife5@gmail.com.
