Will Texas Finally Get Rid Of Daylight Savings Time?

If you woke up feeling groggy and disjointed on Sunday, you’re not alone. Complaints about clock-switching in the Spring and Fall have increased in recent years. And some Texas lawmakers have had enough.

Asthe Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, proposals have been filed in the Texas Legislature that would put an end to Daylight Savings Time in the Lone Star State.

“We just need to pick a time and stick with it,” said state Sen. Jose Menendez of San Antonio, a sponsor of one of the bills. Menendez said he doesn’t have a preference on whether Texas locks into Daylight or Standard time.

“The issue I’m most concerned about is the flipping back and forth,” he said.

But haters of clock-switching shouldn’t get too excited. Similar bills have been filed in each of the past sessions, and they haven’t gone anywhere.
