The lawsuit comes after a Galveston County family said their 13-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted by a person she interacted with on the platform.

The change would give law enforcement the option to remove a child from an unsafe home instead of requiring them to do so.

For children younger than 6 years old, the bill proposes upping child endangerment from a misdemeanor to a felony.
