Wednesday’s call was at least the second “tele-rally” Trump has participated in this week.

The two state senators are seeking the Democratic nomination for governor in the Aug. 4 primary, alongside Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog, who has said he would focus first on medical needs.

“That’s the way that we get this machine turned into a community conversation, instead of political bickering for 90 days,” he added, referring to the length of the legislative session.

Skoog is serving his second term as mayor of Overland Park, having won reelection in November. He previously had served on the Overland Park City Council since 2005.
