Starlink, a division of Elon Musk’s rocket company SpaceX that provides satellite internet service across the world, received the second largest grant in a new state fund meant to support the semiconductor business in Texas.

Citing all the work the company has put into the region, employees are requesting a special election in Cameron County to incorporate a city.

The lawsuit seeks for SpaceX to undergo a more intensive environmental review process.

SpaceX is attempting to launch the largest rocket ever made into orbit this week from Boca Chica beach, outside of Brownsville. Surrounding their site in South Texas are some of the most sensitive habitats in the world, particularly for migrating shorebirds.
