May 26 Sunday
A special matinée show featuring Folk/Americana/Country singer-songwriters, Kelly Hunt & Sara Morgan.
About KELLY HUNT:Memphis-raised singer-songwriter Kelly Hunt paints stories as old and offbeat as her Depression-era tenor banjo and parlor guitar, reimagining traditions of folk, blues & old-time music in a style that hovers beyond the constraints of genre à la Anaïs Mitchell & Gillian Welch. Hunt’s debut album, Even The Sparrow, was released in May 2019 and named as a finalist for the International Folk Music Awards “Album of the Year.” Her sophomore album, Ozark Symphony, was recorded with Grammy-winning musician & producer Dirk Powell and released on Compass Records in October 2023. https://kellyhuntmusic.com/epk
About SARA MORGAN:In a style reminiscent of Dolly Parton, Kathy Mattea, and Nanci Griffith, singer/songwriter Sara Morgan writes and performs poignant, thoughtful, and hilarious tunes which cast back to the timeless country tradition of the second half of the 20th century. Her themes of love, loss, courage, introspection, and irony are a drastic contrast to the current pop-influenced / cross-genre / multi-writer Country Music found on the market today. https://saramorganmusic.com/epk

Tickets on sale now to see Punch Brothers at the Stiefel Theatre on their way to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival! Don’t miss this fabulous show with mandolinist Chris Thile, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny, and violinist Brittany Haas. Their accolades include a Grammy® for Best Folk Album for their 2018 release, All Ashore. In November 2020, when the world felt so full of uncertainty, Punch Brothers did the one thing that they could rely on: they stood in a circle, facing one another, and made music. A weeklong recording session, after quarantining and minimal rehearsal aside from a few Zoom calls, had culminated in their new record, Hell on Church Street — a reimagining of Bluegrass great Tony Rice's landmark album, Church Street Blues — out on Nonesuch in January 2022. Hell on Church Street is a potent work by a band realizing their own powers and returning to the foundations of their music. Tickets start @ $59 and are available at our box office at stiefeltheatre.org, in person at the Box Office at 151 S. Santa Fe or by calling 785-827-1998.
