KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Dennis Raphael Garcia: Live on High Plains Morning

In conjunction with National Hispanic Heritage Month in September, HPPR was so excited to host a native of Garden City, Kansas—who’s also an award-winning authorDennis Raphael Garcia. He’s here as part of his High Plains book tour across the region, sharing stories form his book: Marine, Public Servant, Kansan: The Life of Ernest Garcia. It tells the story of his cousin, a Latino American who exemplifies the grit and spirit of the High Plains. From humble beginnings, “Ernie” became the first Hispanic U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms. This book was recently named a finalist for the prestigious National Latino Book Awards for Best Biography.

Here’s a sneak peek of his upcoming book tour:
