Equine & Feelin' Fine: "Healing through Horses" Workshop in Amarillo

Today, High Plains Morning enjoyed a return visit from Courtnie Dodgen, the Director of Development at 7 Star Therapeutic Riding Center. If you’re a mental health professional, licensed counselor, social worker, or psychologist, this is for YOU. Courtnie tells us that 7 Star has an upcoming workshop for those who want to learn about how “Equine Therapy” works for Mental Health. It’s an experimental, "hands-on" workshop, and you’ll get four continuing education units for attending.  Hear the full interview on the link below!

Sessions are limited, so register now. Deadline is March 20th.  The workshop, entitled Healing through Horses, takes place on Friday, Mar 27th. Two sessions are available – morning and afternoon. They’re held at 7 Star Therapeutic Riding Center, located at 4753 S. Farm to Market Rd. 1258 in Amarillo. For questions and registration, contact Gwen Murphy, LPC at 806-236-2807.

Jenny Inzerillo joined HPPR in 2015 as the host of High Plains Morning, our live music program that airs weekdays at 9 am to noon CST. Broadcasting from KJJP in beautiful downtown Amarillo, she helps listeners wake up with inspired music from our region and beyond. Tune in for new voices in folk/Americana, deep cuts from your favorite artists, soulful tracks from singer/songwriters across the world, and toe-tapping classics dating as far back as the 1920s.
