Angie is a journalist with years of experience reporting local news and regional news for High Plains Public Radio.

Having covered a wide variety of news topics with the Garden City Telegram, Angie was ready to take the next step in her media career and in October of 2016 began in her role as the regional content director with High Plains Public Radio, where she has drawn upon her reporting experience to deliver news and features to HPPR’s listeners and online readers.

Angie is a native of Garden City, but lived in Wichita for seven years and Denver, Colo. for 14 years, prior to returning to Garden City in 2010. In her spare time, Angie enjoys taking road trips to see friends, going to concerts, listening to any and all kinds of music, working out, watching baseball and football games with her dad, hanging out with her mom, and walking her three dogs. Or just binge watching something on Netflix.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee is holding oversight hearings on the Trump Administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Top public health officials including Anthony Fauci and CDC director Robert Redfield will testify.

The House Judiciary Committee is holding hearings on racial profiling and policing following the killing of George Floyd. The hearings follow congressional Democrats unveiling legislation that would amount to major reforms for the nation's police departments.

NPR will bring live coverage of the funeral for George Floyd, 46, who was killed by police in Minneapolis on Memorial Day. The service will be held at The Fountain of Praise in Houston.

Drive-thru testing for COVID-19 is now available in Amarillo. 

According to a press release from the City of Amarillo, individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 can call the Amarillo Public Health Department at 806-378-6300. If those symptoms warrant a test, you will be directed to the drive-thru facility for testing.

Oklahoma has seen a dramatic uptick in confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 377 reported cases as of Saturday and 15 deaths. The counties of Le Flore and Nowata are now required to come into compliance with Gov. Kevin Stitt's Safer at Home order issued Monday.

Baca County, Colorado, along with several other Colorado counties, are reporting their first cases of COVID-19.  As of Friday, eastern Colorado counties reporting COVID-19 cases, and their respective number of cases, are as follows: Baca (1), Logan (3), Morgan (4), Washington (1), Yuma (2), Lincoln (1), Kit Carson (2), Crowley (1), Otero (2).
