Texas Tech Sets $90M Budget For Vet School Construction

The Texas Tech Board of Regents has set a $90 million-budget for the construction of the highly anticipated new veterinary school in Amarillo.

As the Amarillo Globe-Newsnotes, construction began this month on the new Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine, to be located just north of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center on Coulter Street, across from Northwest Texas hospital.

The school will consist of a two-story building, of 185,000 square feet. The inaugural class will likely consist of around 60 students, and vet school leadership is expected to begin visiting pre-veterinary programs this spring to recruit.

The school has already hired a few faculty, and the names of those faculty members will be announced soon.
