karenisern.jpg

Thanks so much to Karen Isern of Amarillo National Bank for stopping by High Plains Morning today to spread the word about the 2019 Downtown Women’s Center Luncheon on Tuesday, May 7th. The theme is “Changing Faces of Recovery, 30 Years Strong,” and they’re celebrating their 30th year of helping women overcome homelessness and addiction. This year’s luncheon will highlight success stories that are sure to inspire, so stop by and find out how you can get involved with the organization. The luncheon will be held from 11:30am to 1pm at the Amarillo Civic Center’s North Exhibit Hall. Over the years, DWC has helped more than 18,477 individuals. They operate several residential shelters, as well as three resale shops that allow clients to re-enter the workforce: Thrift City, Thrift City Too, & Uptown Shoppe. For more information on attending, please call Downtown Women’s Center’s Development Director, Stephanie Goins at (806) 372-3625.
