Football fans across West Texas will be watching the Super Bowl with interest this Sunday, as the Kansas City Chiefs' star quarterback Patrick Mahomes takes the field.
Mahomes is the former quarterback for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and he's considered by many to be one of the greatest Tech football alumni in history.
Meanwhile, as KLBK reported, former Texas Tech head football coach Kliff Kingsbury--who is a former Tech quarterback himself and now coaches the NFL's Arizona Cardinals--made headlines this week by giving a Super Bowl ticket to Patrick Mahomes's former High School coach in Whitehouse, Texas.
The gift will allow Mahomes's former coach to watch his star student from the stands.
Mahomes and the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl this Sunday.
