Hot Diggity Dog: A Chat with John Erickson, Author of "Hank the Cowdog"

This week, High Plains Morning welcomed John Erickson, author of the series of 73 Hank the Cowdog books. (Yes, all of them!) He’s been at it for 37 years now, and he just released a new book: Finding Hank. It’s a large-scale hardback, fully illustrated, and marks a departure from the standard Hank books. “I wrote this one to answer questions that so my kids have about Hank and the other characters in the series,” Erickson says. He’s been a very busy man these past few weeks, skipping all over the region signing books and reading stories. We were lucky enough to catch him on his way home from downstate Texas, heading back to his ranch in Perryton, TX. He’s got several book signing stops this weekend in Amarillo, so catch him while you can!

FRIDAY NIGHT: Barnes & Noble (2415 Soncy Rd., Amarillo)

SATURDAY MORNING: Burrowing Owl—Canyon (419 16th, Canyon)

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Burrowing Owl—Amarillo (7406 SW 34th, Summit Shopping Ctr., Amarillo)
