KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

About Randy Palmer

Randy Palmer has been a performing songwriter since 1967, focusing on songwriting, guitar and solo and band projects. He received his bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television/Film from Baylor University and is a member of the Texas Folk Music Alliance and the Folk Alliance. He earned finalist in the 2011 New Folk Songwriting Contest at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Palmer also earned three ADDY Awards for his advertisement jingles for Palmer, Meader, and Holmes. He taught songwriting workshops for the Panhandle Professional Writer’s Association in 2010 and 2011 and has been a guest lecturer on songwriting for Amarillo College’s Creative Writing Program since 2008. He released his first record, Fighter by Nature, in 1975 on RoRo Records. He released his second record, Calling Me Home, in 1979 on Heartland Productions. He is currently preparing his new CD Waterline for release.  Randy was one of the performers featured in HPPR's very first Songwriters In The Round show.

Mike Fuller remains our station's favorite prodigal son. Former Music Director of High Plains Public Radio, and host of High Plains Morning (2010-2015), he has returned to HPPR with a new show called What The Folk?—a signature mix of folk, roots, Americana, and more—woven together by a unifying theme. Tune in every Saturday night at 7pm CT for a two-hour mix that could only come from the man himself.
