Texas to launch a statewide food truck permit on July 1

Business owners are applauding the new law because currently, anytime they want to operate in another city or county, they have to pay that jurisdiction’s permitting fee.

Pablo Flores, whose dad owns Taqueria Hernandez, said they have been operating at 18th St. and Central Ave. in KCK for several years.

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas put a moratorium on food trucks at a popular intersection after several health and safety violations. The two-month ban lifted on Friday.
