The exhibition, which explores the ways American Indian images, names, and stories have been part of the nation’s identity since before the country began, features photographs, hands-on interactives, objects, and videos that invite visitors to explore this history and representation of Native Americans. Americans is based on an exhibition of the same name that is currently on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and curated by Paul Chaat Smith (Comanche) and Cécile R. Ganteaume.

Known for bold lines, rich color, and glowing light, Viva’s work captures powerful human moments—blending emotion, storytelling, and striking visual contrast in a way that’s both accessible and unforgettable. Each piece invites viewers to connect, reflect, and see something different every time they look. Whether you’re an art collector, a casual viewer, or just looking for a unique night out, this show offers something for everyone. The evening will also feature a live acoustic performance by the Punk band Social Anxiety, along with refreshments, food, a hands-on “make your own art” table, and exclusive merch including prints and apparel. Classical music lovers, GET READY. The Rockhill String Quartet is coming to Garden City!
Featuring musicians with ties to Dodge City, Kansas City & the capital of Missouri, this gifted classical collective will be stopping by HPPR's headquarters in downtown Garden City, KS for a ONE-NIGHT-ONLY performance of modern works by Koncz and Piazzolla, as well as Haydn and Mendelssohn.
This spring, Nebraska musician BreAnne Stone returns to the road for her second year touring across the High Plains, bringing her soulful, folk-inspired sound to a mix of familiar venues and new communities along the way.
She’ll also be featured on High Plains Public Radio, sharing music and stories from the road and offering listeners a closer look at the heart behind her songwriting.
