Doctor, Doctor: Jumpstart Free Health Clinic THIS SUNDAY in Amarillo

doc.JPG

When I saw some information about a free, pop-up health clinic in Amarillo this weekend, I had to invite the organizer onto High Plains Morning. Thanks so much to Pastor Bobby Harris of Seventh Day Adventist Church for stopping by to talk about the Jumpstart Free Health Clinic, coming to town this Sunday, August 25th from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm CT. It’s being held at 3 Angels Community Center (405 S. Western St.) in Amarillo. The clinic is first-come, first-served, so expect to get there as early as 2am if you want to be sure you are seen. Services offered include: doctor visits, STD screenings (until noon), immunizations, earn/nose/throat, pediatrics, mental health, physical therapy, wound care, orthopedics, foot care, assessments, pain management, dental care (i.e., cleaning, fillings, extractions), eye care (i.e., exams, eyeglasses, fittings), blood pressure control, nutrition & cooking demos, addiction help, massage/hydrotherapy, clothes closet, food bank, lifestyle & spiritual counseling, and dog grooming.

If you are a medical professional and would like to help, Harris would love to hear from you. They’ll certainly have overflow patients that need help, so please reach out. You can call him at (806) 333-4344.

ABOUT JUMPSTART FREE CLINICS (from their website): Jumpstart Free Health Clinics are a ministry of love. Each clinic’s job is to connect caring practitioners and volunteers with people who need health care services at no cost. This is a ministry of the ASI Southwestern Union Chapter whose mission is to provide free medical, dental, vision, and supportive care to individuals in need.

Our program is patterned after the Pathway to Health program. Jumpstart Free Health Clinic is powered by a team of dedicated volunteers who strive to bring the healing love of Christ to communities located within the Southwestern Union. Recognizing that health is a valuable gift, we want to help individuals maintain and improve their health.

Volunteers from every walk of life are welcome and needed to continue this wonderful ministry which has blessed and changed lives in a very significant way! If you would like to volunteer or support the Jumpstart Free Health Clinic through your financial donations, please contact Pat Humphrey at (817) 295-0476 or visit here.
