KJJP-FM 105.7 FM serving Amarillo/Canyon and the central Texas Panhandle will be off the air on Monday from about 7am until 3pm. This shutdown is required while repairs are made to guy wires on the Channel 10 tower used by KJJP. During this outage you can continue listening to HPPR via its digital streams (see the player above) or through the HPPR mobile app.

Turn the Beat Around: NEW Music Programming on HPPR

Last month, public radio stations across the country bid farewell to Live from Here with Chris Thile, which ceased production and was therefore no longer available. This program will indeed be missed on the High Plains, but there’s a bright side: new shows on the schedule! Here’s how HPPR will be switching things up for September and beyond, so mark your calendars:

Saturdays:

NPR’s Alt.Latino (5:00 – 5:30p)

NPR’s All Songs Considered (5:30 – 6:00p)

Gospel Roots of Rock & Soul (6:00 – 7:00p)—September only!

Sundays:

New York Philharmonic This Week (1:00-3:00p)

***No longer on Tuesdays; replaced by Sinfonia

In October, there will be a few other adjustments, as well as a long-awaited addition to our Saturday lineup. Stay tuned for more information on that!

Thank you so much for supporting this station, and we welcome your feedback on these updates!

Jenny Inzerillo joined HPPR in 2015 as the host of High Plains Morning, our live music program that airs weekdays at 9 am to noon CST. Broadcasting from KJJP in beautiful downtown Amarillo, she helps listeners wake up with inspired music from our region and beyond. Tune in for new voices in folk/Americana, deep cuts from your favorite artists, soulful tracks from singer/songwriters across the world, and toe-tapping classics dating as far back as the 1920s. Plus, discover underground greats that just might be your new favorite band.
