A Tisket, A Tasket: Holiday Baskets & Open House for Catholic Charities of the TX Panhandle

Thanks so much to Joyce Knight of Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandlefor stopping by High Plains Morning today to share about two wonderful programs they have coming up.
 
First, she told us about their Holiday Gift Basketinitiative, providing a special meal package for the many poverty-stricken senior citizens and disabled adults who aren't able to have a traditional holiday dinner this year. Your generosity can provide a holiday basket which includes turkey or ham, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, yams, vegetables, bread and dessert. Enough food for at least ten meals! Also, their Christmas Open House is coming up on 12/5, and everyone's invited. Enjoy the holiday spirit with food and beverage and see what CCTXP is all about! Here's the info:

What does Catholic Charities of the TX Panhandle do for our region? 
 
Provide Food: The InterFaith Hunger Project, provides a free monthly supply of healthy, nutritious food for those living on a fixed income.
 
Shelter Children: The Pearl Longbine Youth Shelter is a 24-hour emergency placement home for youth, ages 5 to 17 and come from settings in which they may have been homeless, abused, neglected and/or exploited.
 
Affordable Housing: Our Affordable Housing Program provides rental units for individuals and families. Currently, CCTXP owns one apartment complex on Bryan Street and four single family homes.
 
Immigration Services: The Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle Citizenship and Immigration Program is the only non-profit service provider in the Texas panhandle, which means we also have the lowest cost for services in the area.
 
Adult Eye Care: The Adult Eye Care Program works in conjunction with local optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide eye exams and glasses for low-income adults. The eye care professionals provide all of their services free of charge.
